5/5 stars meaning I really loved this, need to buy this and will definitely reread in the future.
When I started to read this series I had no idea what this was about. My friend literally handed the first book to me after she finished it and said “read this.” I can definitely say I was NOT disappointed. And now I am finally here after such an amazing journey. There many pros to this book as there were a few slight cons.
Book in General: This book is almost- No actually by far the best in this trilogy. The book picks up directly after the cliffhanger end of book 2. Many other book I’ve read don’t directly talk about the things that happen after the cliffhangers and start the story up again sometimes weeks or months the ending in book 2. Then a few chapters later we get a flashback. Might I allow myself to call that unnecessary. BUT NOT THIS BOOK. In the book we also continue to see little parts of the remembrances and I deeply loved how they were incorporated into the plot. while the plot itself it was just amazing. There was never a dull moment whether there were problems in the main plot, the romance or just the random funny moments.
Lia: aka Princess Arabella of Morrighan. aka Jezelia:
She was an amazing character! I loved her from the beginning and loved all the development she had from everything that she lived through in the 2nd book. Honestly I would have been incredibly pissed had Lia not changed after everything she was forced to suffer through. But nope darlings we got an amazing amount of character development that makes you want to sob like a proud parent when remembering her from book 1. I feel that although she does lose a part of herself and most importantly her innocence and ignorance this was crucial for her to fill the role she was meant for. I loved her and how we really got to see her how she grew up quite a lot from the first book and be the defiant girl she always is.
Pauline: this, my darlings, is how you take a side flat character and give her more of a real person factor. When the series starts I wasnt really feeling Pauline. Yeah ok you are Lia’s friend and to add drama you are also pregnant. *shrugs* not really caring. In this book we got to see Pauline grow up as well. I loved how she open up and became braver in the face of the enemies. In other words everything that happened to her and Lia helped her become a stronger person
Kaden: oh my dear Kaden this time we got to see really deep into his past and what made him the person he is today. I got to say it was pretty scary and traumatic, what he went through i mean. So as the story continues we see him struggle with his moral compass a lot. Which again in the end ends amazingly.
World: the world descriptions sound amazing and I would love to see some art of it. love of it.I would also love to see the world before the series like a little prequel that explains the remembrances a bit clearer.
Cons: If you want to see my reactions while reading this I made about three updates on Goodreads if you would like to check that out.
Rafe: Breathes deeply I am going to keep this PG and not curse at Rafe but he really deserves it. I can’t even remember the love I had for him the previous books. He just got on my nerves so bad. He thought that just because Lia had confess her love and wanted a future with him does not give him the right to treat her the way everyone else in her life has treated her. She did not deserve this kind of treatment from you. I get that it is all a normal thing in that time and society, but Rafe darling, you have no right to treat her as you wish just because she is a women.
Romance: wow ok so this was a very bad thing for me. Not only were we thrown back in to the normal love triangle but the way it develops….NO I really tried to chose a OTP for this book and I was really torn between both guys..then as we neared some stuff that happened with one of the guys *cough*Rafe*cough* My ship just died. Then as the triangle was resolved, THANKFULLY, but then…..no please dont…I HATED IT….sure it was cute and was resolved but it felt like it was just to give us the romantic ending we all wanted.
……Now i see i really didn’t have many cons which is awesome. In conclusion this book is amazing and deserves to be given some love. So if you haven’t read this series you need to
